Roland Ruckmann-Barnes, a junior at Livermore Granada High, placed 10th in the Division 2 boys final at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Ruckmann-Barnes covered the 5-kilometer layout in 15:21.9 to lead Granada to a runner-up finish behind Newbury Park by a 24-99 margin. Granada secured one of four national at-large berths to compete Dec. 3 at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon.
